If flowers from the corner shop wouldn’t do and you can see the difference between mass market creations and a bouquet with a difference, then Scarlet & Violet is definitely a place for you!
My first visit to the Scarlet & Violet was not planned, I just came across it on my way to work. When I passed it by for the first time I was astonished by the scene. This shop looked so out of place – too gorgeous for the neighbourhood. I promised myself to check it out over the weekend, so I would have time for photography.
This elegant shop has a bit of a vintage vibe: an old but lovely looking van decorated with flowers and a vase shop next door, certainly add to the mood. When you step inside it feels like you are in a fairy tale – amazing flower arrangements, small vintage displays (each telling a story) and a massive antique mirror, all set the atmosphere. Flower designs look as though they have just been hand picked out of an English garden. Some may simply describe them as natural-looking arrangements, but I think they are so much more.
I have done a bit of research it turned out that the shop belongs to London’s most in-demand florist, the master behind the Kate Moss wedding and someone who is well known in the flower world. But don’t be afraid, the shop may be famous, but their prices are quite down to earth. I walked away with an amazing creation for just £25.
